Jehu said, "Come with me and see my zeal for the LORD."
And you know what he did? SLAUGHTERED more people. Is this the zeal God wants in us? To KILL people who don't believe in Him? I find that VERY VERY HARD to imagine. Is/was God really that angry that people choose/chose not to worship Him, but worship other 'gods'? I'll never understand all this, if that is true. And as God is God always, never changing, why do we see people having this type of zeal in the OT?
Is that what some radical Muslims truly believe? That it is ZEAL they are showing to please God by killing all who don't believe what they believe?
God....what IS the truth? Will you still love those who don't worship you? Will you cast aside all who don't believe in Your Son Jesus? Is this the all-loving God we hear about today, or are You the 'angry God' of old who can't stand to see people living who don't believe in you?
Like I said, very, very confusing. I know that God is great, but I wonder about motive? Has man gotten it all wrong? Did God REALLY want all those people slaughtered throughout the OT, or were those battles conjured up by man in order to make themselves more powerful?
