That's not a 'law', but more of a saying. And if you think about it, it is an apt saying. Imagince a bunch of Infantry men and women fighting on the ground with the enemy. Call in the Artillery fire and at once, eliminate the enemy with a few precisely calculated rounds of explosive killing power. Now, THAT's dignified! That is, if you are an Artillery person (as I was) a coupla miles away for that vulgar brawl, the battle.
What does this have to do with today's reading? Well, let me rephrase it...."GOD adds Dignity to what would otherwise be a Vulgar Brawl."
The laws you are about to read, starting in chapter 5, are God's way of getting us to live dignified, proper, lives.

But, in the mean time, before we get to this dignification, these laws, let's delve into a precursor to it/them, in the first four chapters....then discuss those dignified commands in chapter 5.
We immeidately find the continuation of Exodus and Numbers in chapter 1: checking out the land west of the Jordan, so that when the wanderings in the desert are completed, the vulgar brawls which are to come, can be accepted, and won, with dignity. Throughout chapters 2 and 3 we find the Israelistes commanded to wander around, attacking different forces in their way. Then in, verse 21, we discover that God is not going to let his otherwise dignified leader, Moses, not cross the Jordan because of his unbelief in God (striking of the rock 3 times in Horeb). I bet it was hard for Moses to remain dignified in his pleading to God to let him go to the promised land. Chapter 4 finds us getting initial instructions from God, preparing us for the many, many laws He is going to implement in order that their/our lives turn from a vulgar brawl to lives of dignity. Then comes the Big Ten! If you ask most Christian in the entire world, the average number of these ten that they will get right, is 4. FOUR! Now, THAT is not dignified! If we can't even recite the laws, how can we live by them. If you haven't read chapter 5 yet as you are reading my blog, pause, get a piece of paper, and write down as many of the ten as you can. TRY to list them in order, but if you can't, just list them in the order in which they come to you. Go ahead, try it. No need to announce your 'results', just call it a dignified exercise.

Go New Orleans (although I doubt they will win tomorrow).

    God is Great!!!!

So the church is having a marraige seminar. it started on thursday and goes all the way through sundays service. Unfortunatly we couldnt go thursday or friday but we went today. The instructors do whats called video therapy and the studies were on personal styles of people. It was all about how we fight as couples and how to correct ourselves because in the first 3 minutes of an arguement it will determine the entire outcomeof the whole disagreement. anywAY Cant wait for tomorrow.
