Well, one good way to do all the things you WANT to do....is to read every single day. You'll find if you take the 10-15 minutes it takes to read our 'assignment' first thing in the morning (even if you don't blog at that time), you will have a MUCH better day.
Good to have you back---looking forward to your input on the readings. Reply to this

They camped, they left. They camped, they left. Got old after the first 15 or so of those. SO, what did they do when they camped? Did they stay long? Did they prepare for battle in their 'downtimes' when they camped? Just thought it peculiar that the author would record each town/city/area in which they camped along their march to 'the promised land'. I suppose it is to teach us that we should take on large responsibilities a step at a time. Start something, pause and make sure it is right. Continue, pause again to check things. I think if we all did this instead of going 'helter skelter' into different paths of our lives, we'd get things done a whole lot better and faster. Anyway, that's my take on THAT lesson.
The other is the folks that tried to get out of going to battle to defend the entire Israeli campers. I find it difficult to think that ANYONE would not want to fight an enemy who endangers the lives of a nation. That is why we had so many great volunteers AFTER September 2001 in our military. They wanted to go to battle to defeat this enemy of ours. Very few joined after 2001 to do a desk job....a WHOLE bunch of heroes volunteered for the front line to help the rest of our nation. I am impressed by them. And I think God would be also. He got extremely angry when some of the Israelites wanted to 'stay home' and take over land on the 'safe side' of the Jordon. SO angry that He punished the entire nation of Israelites, at least those older than 20 years, because he saw them as afraid and unwilling to die for others. This is exactly the message Jesus brought. HE died for us, and even Paul said a good man might die for another. To give up one's life for the RIGHT reason is pleasing to God. I salute all the men and women who volunteered in our military services for the 'chance' to die for others. Reply to this
