Wow! Kool. WAY Kool! What an image that must have been when Moses told Korah, Dathan and Abiram that the earth would swallow them up and bury them alive, AND THEN IT DID!!! I don't recall reading this before (I MUST have, but now at the age of 60 I forget a lot), but this time I envisioned the event. With sinkholes appearing all around Atlanta because of all the heavy rains we have been having the past coupla years, I can envision such a 'sink hole' opening up and these three and their entire families being 'sucked' into the hole and being completely buried with earth as it filled itself back in. Buried ALIVE! What an imaginary sight that is.

What do you think was the response of the Israeli witnesses to this event? After hearing Moses say that God would punish them (the three) and for the rest of everyone else to stay back, they witnessed the earth opening up and swallowing them alive. I know if I saw and heard such an event, I'd KNOW there was some really powerful force in charge. I think they probably realized it (again). You'd think they'd not need reminder after reminder that God is in control, but it appears they did.

Are we like that today? Do we need reminders over and over that we need to stay away from sin, or else our destiny will also be 'in the ground' rather than 'in Heaven'? Sometimes I think we do. We repeatedly get involved in different kinds of sin, and usually forget that God knows all. And that He will punish all who do not repent.

Just imagine, in your OWN mind, what this event must have looked like. Scarey, to say the least. A lesson not to forget, for sure. Don't let Satan swallow you up......avoid those sins and confess them to God...otherwise....you may see Korah, Dathan and Abiram some day.
