Yuck, yuck and more yuck. What is with all this 'ceremonial clean and unclean'? (This is repeated a lot in Deuteronomy as well.) Discharges, birthing women, sores, boils and a host of other 'things' made these people unclean, and then not allowed to worship God at the Temple. What strange rules!!!! Haven't quite figured out why God would call someone unfit (unclean) to worship simply because of some bodily function or ailment. I would think what would make someone unclean would be a body PART, that is, THE HEART. It is the HEART (not the physical organ, but the thoughts/soul/actions) of a person that defines him or her. It is how they think and act is what I would think would make them worthy of God's praise. Today, we follow a completely different set of 'rules' when it comes to worshipping God. Nowhere do I see that sick people can't go to church and worship, or even worship in their own home or on a hillside or in Starbucks or whereever they desire, even if they are sick. And birthing mothers, I am certain many pray to God (a form of worship) before during and after having a child. But, back to the heart. How is yours? Do you have a heart for God and desire to do good yet sometimes fail to do that(Romans 7)? Probably. But is your heart normally pure, normally good, normally desireable to please God. Also, probably. If not, then maybe that is an area you might work on...if so, I am sure it is an area we can always improve upon. So, this week (today being Monday), take it upon yourself to tyr to remain as 'clean' as you can by purifying your heart (mind/thoughts/actions) by thinking/doing good deeds.

It's okay to isolate, as long as you don't do it alone.
