Tony - thanks! I needed that!!!

Verse 31: No matter how hard we prepare for the troubles and hardships that we will face in life, victory and defeat are determined by God, not us. Is that correct? If so, it seems like my time would be much better spent working on my relationship with God than on preparing myself. I spend so much of my time focusing on how ^^^^I^^^ (that is "I" in really, really big font") will handle my financial troubles, how "I" will deal with my wife's illness, how "I" will fix my children's troubles, how "I" will overcome the sin that dogs my life, how "I" ....

Maybe instead i (that is, "I" in miniature font) should just focus on my relationship with God and let God determine victory and defeat.

Perhaps that is why I am so burdened and overwhelmed right now. Too much "I" and not enough "i". I remember always saying "to God be the glory." Instead, my life has been to "me" be the glory.

I just did a quick topical word search on glory. Wow - I see a whole lot of glory to God and God's glory. I did not see one reference to "Rich's glory." No wonder I am not happy. No wonder I feel like life is zooming by me. No wonder I feel so alone.

Tony - thank you, wherever you are. No promises, but I am here today and it feels good. Just to read God's word again feels good. Just to contemplate and write out my feelings is good. Can feeling good again become a habit? I wonder.

25For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

We are not strong enough to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. We are not smart enough to fix the things of this world. I try to live by these versus because i try to be just like you Rich "I" want to fix everything i can around "ME". Yet i am just me. Try and stick this verse in your head and live it out one day.

All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,
      "God opposes the proud
but gives grace to the humble."[a] 6Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

      especially verse 7.

I propose (even though Sam has not updated the blog) that we, as brothers continue on with the blog starting tommorrow? How does that sound? I was thinking we could go with the studies of Rich.

I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.
