When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately.

Are we explaining the way of God to others?

Another verse that alludes to the importance of baptism - Apollos only knew the batism of John - which was a baptism of repentance. So Apollos had Jesus down pat, preached repentance and even preached baptism, but still needed to be explained the way more adequately by Priscilla and Aquila.

Crispus was the synagogue ruler when Paul preached to the Jews. When Paul left the Jews and went to preach to the Gentiles, Crispus and his household believed in the Lord. Did Crispus get removed from leadership because he believed contrary to the Jews? I ask this because in verse 17 the Jews turned on Sosthenes, the ruler of the synagogue, and beat him after being ejected from the court. What was the vow Paul made that had him cut his hair off? It must of been if some importance to be written down. We have typically the same scriptures here. Paul preaches and tries to convert. Many are converted. Paul and other disciples travel, have everything in common, share the experiences, help each other out, and not only rely but listen to God when He speaks. If we heard someone speaking as boldly as Apollos would we dare to correct? Would we dare to explain God more adequately to them. Would we be strong enough in our convictions or would we waver and think, maybe they are right? I believe God is the creator of the universe and everything we know. But the question still is, could I explain God more adequately to someone? I don't think so. If we are not diligent, if we do not have thorough knowledge of the scriptures, if we are not in the word daily, how can we explain more adequately?
