If you look at this chapter a bit, you might see that these 'charges against Israel' are precisely the same charges that can be made against most of thw world today. No faithfulness (fewer and fewer people today believe in God), lying and murder, stealing and adultery (these thiings are RAMPANT in the US and many, many countries worldwide), the beasts, birds and fish are dying (droughts, bird-flu and water polution), again and again, the things mentioned are happening today. When WILL this people learn?

And further into the chapter, around verses 7-13, one could easily liken these events to what individual people are indulging in today (consulting mediums, prostitution, eat more because we're not satisfied (nation's obesity rate has skyrocketed---and your's??), the Catholic Priests and other church leaders have sinned more (homosexuality, adultery, child rape), and etc.

Yes, if anyone really wanted to know what ouir world is like...read this chapter written thousands of years ago about the world back then. And it angered God....do you think He is pleased with US?

Not sure what to say about this, except I agree with Mac. I see parallels with society today. All we can do is try to help these people know what God wants from them. make disciples, be fishers of men. do we have a longing to pull people out of the world, or do we secretly want to have what they have, do what they do? For a long time I stopped see the lost as they really are, LOST. I see them that way again, I have compassion on them, they are in my prayers again. I want to help them see what God has in store for there lives. I am fishing again and it is gooooood!
