Well, good morning....great day yesterday, weatherwise---got to about 50 degrees...today is supposed to go up around 60, BUT....after that, down back to 'normal' temps here in Vermont---around zero.

Chapter 21 is a great story about greed and conniving. But, after all that was done, notice at the end of the chapter what happens. Ahab humbled himself and God 'forgave' him (at least temporary). I guess this was a forecursor (is that a word?) to how Jesus treats us.....forgives us when we humble ourselves by confessing our sins. AND, I guess it is 'temporary', as we usually need more forgiveness as we continually sin. We are Ahabs, aren't we? Best we not test God TOO much, huh? The lesson we should take from this chapter is not to rely on forgiveness (although that IS what saves us), but we should attempt to avoid deliberately sinning.

Hope all are finding this week a pleasurable one...I know Rich is travelling (gave him this site via email yesterday)....how are the rest of you doing?

I am cold!!! It is 19 outside today and supposed to drop to single digits tonight. I didn't realize how much I like Georgia. I think I complain too much about what I have. I always think the grass is greener on the other side. But what if the grass is brown on the other side. In fact, that is often the case (I assume by the law of probability, it is probably browner 50% of the time). An example is right now. I often complain about there being no snow in Atlanta and I complain about how Atlanta people do not know how to deal with any small amount of snow that comes. Well, right now, I would gladly choose no snow to this cold. Also, the snow outside right now is all dirty and what is here is hard as a rock. BJ, Richie and I are sick - sore throat and coughing - and I have absolutely no energy up here (I think that is also related to the cold). I just saw it is about 70 in Atlanta. Wish I was there (where the grass is greener)!!! God has a way of teaching us lessons if we keep our eyes open.

Sorry Rich - it is a drag to be sick on vacation - Beda got sick on Christmas day with a cold, which has turned into a nasty illness with fever and such. I am at my brother's house in Abalama. Sorry, but the weather is nice.
