This story of the 450 prophets is one of the greatest ones depicting the power of God in a specific instance throughout the b ook of Kings, I think. It took faith, no more than faith, it took knowledge, that God would do what He did. Otherwise, wouldn't someone have been called a fool if the demonstration went awry?

HOw much knowledge of God do you have? Do you firmly believe He will intercede in your daily, weekly, etc issues? I am.

On the road right now near Harrisburg, PA....drove all night, sharing the driving duties with my wife....she's driving right now!!!

Hope all have a good weekend.

Yes - awesome story - reminds me that God is powerful - like when he parted the Red Sea. I need reminders like that for my petty problems.

Elijah is full of confidence - God is working powerfully through him - sustaining life, raising people from the dead, burning up some bulls - and confronting evil leaders and turning people to God. Must have been pretty awesome.

Any New Year's resolutions out there? I spent about 4 hours today working on my 2009 budget. God really blessed us last year - we are still in a lot of debt but climbing out of it. So one my goals will be obvious - to stick to my budget!
