War and rumors of war. I guess the biggest thing I have 'against God' is that he allows wars---even seems to promote them sometimes. Why would a creator of a species want the species to thin themselves out by killing each other? I can see, because of propogation, that too many of any species can be dangerous for all other species on such a limited planet such as earth with its limited resources, but war? I can understand disease and other events that God could create to keep the population in check, but for man to willingly go about and kill fellow man, and be rewarded and encouraged by God to do so, doesn't make sense.
God allowed 'non-believers' to kill believers--all for some purpose I am sure---but as creative as our God is, why aren't there better methods of getting His points across.

I aslo noted in this chpater that the author said that both David and Asa were FULLY committed to God, yet they both did things contrary to God's instructions (David killed Uriah and had sex with a married woman (not mentioned here), and Asa failed to remove the 'high places' where people worshipped other gods). How can one be fully committed, and yet not be?

Is that the way we are? Are we 'fully' committed some of the time, yet indulging in sins during the rest of the time? Probably. I guess the challenge is to put more weight on the 'fully committed' side of the scale, and less on the sinning side. Think about this today and see how you might improve your committment to God, and lessen the amount of time figuring out how to sin!

And, oh yeah, don't go to war with anyone.

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.

8Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

God is love and love covers a multitude of sins, therefore it is reasonable to believe God covers a multitude of sins therefore making us appear totally committed.
second- if believers are killed no matter the form of death they are going to a better place. so if the enemy kills them it is a good thing. Like the first born in Egypt, had God not snuffed them out they would have grown up worshiping false gods and ended up in hell, but he brought all of the first born children to heaven saving them from eternal damnation. He has a plan.

I agree with you that it makes no sense. I can understand going to war when it is good against evil and good wins. But the other would make no sense. God has a plan, unfortunately we have no clue what it is. Maybe that is a good thing. It's kinda like when we build something. First we tear up the land, then we put a foundation, then walls and a roof and so on. But until it is almost complete other paserbyers have no clue what it is until the plan is fulfilled. We have no clue what Gods plans are until we see the full circle of what happened verses what might of happened.
