fools and sluggards. there are three basic characteristics that this chapter speak of, the fool, the sluggard and the one who knows how to deal with each. I know in my life I have all three characteristics in myself. If i stay in Gods word I keep the sluggard and the fool at bay, maybe someday I will be able to eliminate there presence all together, but for know they are only locked up.

Well, gentlemen, I apologize...I just had over 2600 characters written, and hit a wrong button as I was typing, and it is all gone.....suffice it to say, I wrote long and hard about verse 11, "As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly". BLUF--Bottom Line Up Front: vomit is sin. When you smell it, don't tast it. Learn to avoid it with help from brothers.

There. Sorry I didn't redo the whole lesson derived from what I got out of these 13 words, but I think most of you know how to avoid the taste of sin even when tempted by its smell.

Have a great first day of the week. Remember....Jesus came back to life on this day, early in the morning. I got up late today...if I had gotten up this late 2K+ years ago, I would have missed this miraculous event. But I thank Jesus for giving me rest so I can now go do something for Him.

Too bad it got erased - I hate when that happens. But I hear you on your vomit analogy - it is something I have unfortunately lived off and on when I struggle with sin - and then I feel stupid/sick/etc. On that note, I went and added some comments to Proverbs 5, 6, and 7 - not so much to give any new insights as to let you know my struggles in that area - so please read them when you get a chance.

I have been struck about how there are so many proverbs that deal with the importance of justice. Pr 24:24 Whoever says to the guilty, "You are innocent"— peoples will curse him and nations denounce him. 25 But it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and rich blessing will come upon them. And in this chapter - it has very strong words for 'fools', which if I recall means one of morally corrupt character or something like that. It says in verses 1 and 8 not to give a fool honor. It says in verse 3 that a rod is what is needed for the back of fools. There is a good writeup on bible.org on this http://www.bible.org/page.php?page_id=618
I am very much a naive and people-pleasing person, so it is sometimes hard for me to make such a strong judgment against certain people as laid out by Proverbs. I need more wisdom to know when to show mercy, have patience, etc. and when to have a strong judgment against 'fools' and 'wicked men'.
