THis chapter (9) describes the real purpose of Jesus. And what a Glorious purpose that is. HOwever, I see in the NIV that verse 28 says 'many' people, not 'all'. Hmmmmmm. And, notice that salvation does not come until he appears a second time, meaning......people are in some sort of 'limbo' state? Do the Catholics have this part correct? No one is IN Heaven at this time? BUT, recalling the story of Abraham and Lazarus, there was one of them in Heaven. Maybe HE went, but only because of his relationship (He talked personally to a God who spoke personally back to him). So confusing (again). I guess the question is not so much what, or where, is Heaven, but WHEN?

When we first went to Iraq we set up tents and temporary bunkers. We used vehicles that were not adequate for the task. As the war went on it was necessary to make a more permanent solution to the living and driving situation. I believe our government knew that the tents and trucks were not at all a permanent solution, but did it anyway. after a time they them put a new better plan into action and made some permanent structures and armored vehicles. I use this as a modern day parable, this is man doing a similar thing that God did, we do not disagree with the Iraq process (even if we disagree with the war itself), yet we want to question God and his infanant wisdom. there had to be the old law for Jesus to fulfill it.
