NOthing nig hits me today, except that God may have erred? If God is all-knowing, why would he not have sent his Son in the first place? Instead, he established a covenent with Abraham, one which God nows abolishes, and creates a NEW one through Jesus Christ. Is there a possibility that this new Covenent will also be replaced by another? After all, God does say in this chapter that ALL men will 'know' Him, that is, will come to Him. Yet, we KNOW that is not true of today's society. Most know OF Him; some dismiss Him; and a lot, although they know OF Him, do not KNOW Him. It is hard to adhere to the teaching that God knows everything while making these covenents which seem to fail, and yet says they won't initially. I hope this is not blasphemous, but it does make me wonder.

??? I have no clue what the writer is talking about. Is it just me or does the writer seem to jump around a tad?

Ya gotta have SOME clue! What about the differences between the Old and New Covenents? Why did God have to create a New one in the first (oops, excuse me, the SECOND) place? IF God created a Covenent (old) and there was "something wrong with it", would that not indicated God did an imperfect thing?????????????????
Did God not know He would find "fault with the people" when He first created the old Covenent with Abraham? If He did, why did He do it in the first place--why not simply send Jesus at THAT time? Or was that who Melchizedek was? Was HE imperfect? SO MANY questions, so few answers. HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't even read the chapter but here is my thoughts from your comments. God made the new, second, covenant because man screwed up the first one so bad there had to be a new one. God gives us free will to choose what we want to do. God is a father, we are fathers, our children screw up and we give them a second, third, fourth and so on chance. Were we wrong to give them the chance in the first place? No. We hoped for the best even though allot of times we know they are not going to do right, but we still hope for the best. God knows we are going to screw up and He is prepared for it, more so than we are,yet we give, and get a second chance or a third.

I will put my laws in their minds
and write them on their hearts.
    I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
11No longer will a man teach his neighbor,
or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,'
because they will all know me,
Is this the Jewish nation? If I read this verse correctly, everyone should know the Lord and they should not have to be taught. What does that make us? That brings to mind Revelations,I think, where scriptures says 144 thousand will be saved. Interesting chapter, short but thought provoking.
