Do you know the difference between good and evil? The HEbrew writer tells us in verse 14 that, for the mature, solid food is needed, who by constantly being fed this food, trains themselves to distinguish good from evil. IN most cases, you would probably be able to tell the difference between something being good, and something less than that. For example....you know that hate is evil and love is good. But what about some other things that occur almost daily in your life? Is the fact that you might be doing well financially a good thing, or an evil one? Or, if you are struggling with handling monies, is this good or bad? When a preacher gets up and provides you with his thoughts in a sermon, can that be evil as well as good? I believe so. Just look at the many preachers who teach things according to the way they want to, rather than exploring the whole truth and preaching that. How about the schools your children attend? Good? Evil? Their friends. YOUR friends? What evil do you see in them (and us)? What good? What about your own ACTIONS? Are some definitely evil, yet you may be thinking they are good? When you tell a white lie to spare someone's feelings...good or evil? Some of the medicines you or your family take...good for their bodies/minds, or are some of them doing more harm than good? Marijuana? (Don't know why that jumped out at me, I have never even tried the junk). A glass of red wine per day---society 'experts' tell us it is good for our bodies...is it? You see, I could go on and on about things that hard to distinguish if they are good or evil. Can you list four of five different ones that may be evil, yet seem good? How is 'solid food' going to make us smarter in this arena? How are we going to be able to tell the difference in these grey areas simply by being fed this magical 'solid food'? Would LOVE to hear some indepth feedback on this one, because I can see where we already know basic good from evil, but what about the areas which are not so basically black or white? Reply to this
