Here's one for the books: "and do not show favoritism to a poor man in his lawsuit." How many times today do we see the 'poor' facing the megarich, and everyone feeling sorry for the poor? I think this is excellent advice to keep in mind. Yes, many times the rich DO take advantage of the poor, but each case must be taken individually, and just because one is poor does not make him right. Favoritism is a __________ (don't know WHAT is is) that needs to be carefully evaluated for several reasons. Do you have a favorite child? Probably, you do. Do you show it? Probably. What does that say to the other child(ren)? Do you have a favorite friend. Most certainly you do, but you should be a 'friend' to all and treat everyone equally. But, we don't. We show favoritism in the company we keep; in the things we do; and in the people we love. I am not saying that it is a bad thing, and in many cases can be very good. However, when favoritism is shown, one must be aware of others' feelings and treat them all as friends. If a poor man dressed dirtily and sloppily (if dressed at all!!!) comes to church, let's say, and a rich man dressed finely also is in attendance--which should you go introduce yourself to? DUH! BOTH!!!! Do you? Reply to this

It has been a tough emotional day for me. I have been inaccurately accused at work by a student in one of my classes. The student has accused me of not being fair in grading and in not doing my job properly. He has told lies about me to my boss as well as to the Dean of the college. I have to meet with the student tomorrow as well as with my boss. I am trying to love in persecution but it is difficult. The student has said some hurtful things about me and he has stirred up others to think the same. He has posted emails against me to others and set up a website to try to get me fired or disciplined. I am frustrated, hurt, angry, apprehensive, and much more. I would appreciate your prayers, especially tomorrow at 11:00 when I meet with him. Reply to this
