Good 'souhd???' judgement in these rules. You are responsible for what is not yours if it is in your possession, either legally or illegally. Whne my house burned, I bought my neighbor a new log splitter for 1200 dollars; and a freind of mine's aluminum ladder for $300 (even though he told me, 'that's okay, no need to pay me'. (I just knew it was right to do so.) I am not sure what else I had borrowed from people durng that time, and it was destroyed..hopefully nothing of yours...but if so, ya have to let me know so I can follow God's rules. One rule which kinda stand out in all these about property, and animals, and wives, is the one which says, "Do not allow a sorceress to live." First of all, why a socceress and not a sorcerer? The KJV calls this person a 'witch', which, in reality, could be either gender, but today we usually say a witch is female, and a walock in male. The Old English word which meant female witch was wicce, and the male was wicca....I think the NIV translators took the liberty to be sexist here. But either way, why is God so against witchcraft? I suppose that in many cases one could liken its practicies to those of Satan. I guess it is one area one really needs to avoid, even today. Give the Devil a foothold, and in he comes, and I guess practicing witchcraft would be one of the ways in which you open the door wide. ---but Samantha was always portrayed as being the 'good' one..... :-) Reply to this

I believe my Mercedes Maybach 62 S Sedan was parked in your garage (next to Rik's Ferrari). In case you need a reference point, MSRP is $429,500. Also, I think my Patek Philippe Twenty-4 watch (list price: $19,500) was in the glove compartment). Reply to this

again, these chapters do not seem to create any deep thoughts. It is informational. I see God being very specific in his judgment on why someone does what he does and the punishment reflects the reason. that tells me that God is not cut and dry. Like any good judge he weighs the reason it was done not just the act itself. we as parents should practice the same reason. (something the UCMJ does NOT do). we should take time to see why our children did what they did and have the punishment (or praise) be more fitting with there reasoning not the "crime" itself. It is amazing how detailed this list is. God is concerned about every detail of his chosen people's lives. He wants them to have very defined, precise laws with defined, precise punishments. Like I said yesterday, as opposed to seeing these as oppressive rules and regulations meant to punish man, these are the basic foundations of a nation given by a loving, caring God. God gave these rules and regulations to the Israelites to help them establish a free and independent nation. This list is basically their constitution and amendments. It is the basic set of rules and regulations to govern society. Look at the detail in this list. God cares about every aspect of our life. Praise the God of heaven who cared about the Israelites at this time and who cares for us just as much today. Reply to this
