Apologies not needed, Rick......we love you no matter if you blog, study, read or not. (From yesterday's blog)

Exodus---a mass exit. Chapter 1 of this book shows us why an exodus was in the making. Forced labor, slavery, killing of male children. The Israelites living in Egypt were becoming more and more oppressed simply because they were becoming larger in number---a fact that for some reason frightened the new King of Egypt. What is this thingn called "power" that men (and women) crave? This King of Egypt is just one of millions of people, who, over the millenia, have craved POWER. Greed? Pride? Fear? These three sins result in, or can cause, a craving for power. To 'lord' over others...to make oneself appear better than others. I guess that is what power is. Unfortunately, with power, responsibilites come...and as history has shown, man can't handle those responsibilities. Hitler comes to mind. As does Sadam Hussein. And Nixon. And Billy Graham. And Martin Luther King. ???????????? Mac, where did these two 'spiritual' men come to become part of your list of those who craved power and couldn't handle the responsibilities. Well--if you know your history, you will see both men had severe issues with sexual immorality. Add to that, John F. Kennedy, and Hillary's husband (what was his name??). With power, comes greed, pride, 'fear', as well as other sins God wants us to avoid. As with all these men of history, and the King of Egypt who ordered all Israeli boys killed, power was something they did not handle as God might like them to. Same with us. Watch how we 'lord' over others: our children, our wives, our co-workers or staff, our friends.
Power belongs in tools, not our hearts. Just something to think about as we all make a mass exit, and exodus, to our places of work or play today.

obviously the Egyptians did not communicate with future generations, the new king had no knowledge of Joseph. It makes it hard to learn form our previous ancestors if we do not have stories from them. this can be applied to us as fathers and our sons/daughters. we must communicate with them so they can make more educated decisions then we did at there ages.

the midwives lied to the king of Egypt and God rewarded them for it. does this say that there is an acceptable time to lie?
