Interesting way to find a spouse. We, in America, do the old dating game, but the end result seems to be the same. I saw in Laban and his family eager willingness to please God. For some reason, he realized this man was sent by God in some manner, so he immediately replied that no matter how we feel about it, we'll do it, as it came from God. The daughter seemed just as willing. Today, we hesitate in life a lot because we don't really know if things ARE from God. Satan is such a deceiver, we have to be extra careful. I wish God were more 'open' today...but then, maybe not..maybe what God wants us to do is not necessarily what WE want to do. So, I guess the best advice is to continue to do what we think is best for God...whether it be stopping and helping someone on the highway (but extreme caution must be exercised because of the nature of people---could easily be a trap, or even a drug deal you might be interrupting), or just continuing to grow in His Word and love. Are you all EAGER, like Laban and family, to do the will of God, no matter what it is? Give me a 'for instance'.....

Sorry I have been absent the last couple of days. friday I wrote some things, but I got distracted and never postedit. (duh) and sat/sun I was up to the lake and just plain forgot. Sorry. We had to have Kiesha put to sleep on sat morning. we have had her for 12+ years and it was the most dificult I have ever had to do. Dogs are truely mans best friend. I do not have any comments on Gen 24. I read it and nothing jumped out at me. Again I apologize to all for my absence and will try to keep consistent with my posting.

The servant, that is all he is ever called in this passage. How often are we a servant to people around us? Do we serve the people around us or do we just help out if it is easy? The "servant" had a task before him and he did not falter, he asked Abraham exactly what he should do and he did it. When the "servant got to the well he prayed a specific prayer so their would be no confusion and he would get the right girl. When we pray are we as specific as the servant, or do we generalize?
