If God parted the red sea and held the waters up without walls why couldn't he have done this with the flooding? It could explain a lot of questions: Where did the water go? How could the arc hold all the animals? why they never saw rain?

Sam, you had a thought the other day about God still creating species even today. I think there is merit to that thought. God did not create woman until after he rested on the seventh day. He did see a need for man after he was "finished" with the creation and fixed it. if our Planet is in need of something that will assist us "mankind" in finding hope in God I think he would create it for us. Just like he did with Eve.
Lots of misc. thoughts today. Just stuff to ponder. Reply to this

Why would you thin everyone was a vegetarian, My thought on verse 4 "But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.", is we are not to eat raw meat, fresh killed still full of blood. Why are we trying to use logic as we know it to understand God? It is interesting that everyone has question about the possibility of the flood, the number of animals and where did the water go. Why not, how could you make man from dust, how can you separate water, as we know it, from sky ,as we know it? I know it's called FAITH, silly people Scientology is for holly wood. Reply to this

Genesis 1-9 so far has shown us God's almighty POWER/LOVE. It shows how God wants to continue to teach us to grow in love and Patience (Noah was very patient) Endurance thru trials. God's plan is immense and only he knows why things are the way they are. I for one need to remember that it is his plan that I need to live by and not worry of the details. Just step back and watch him paint and how beautiful it is.
In Chapter 9, Noah, a faithful servant of God had followed God's commands without question for so long; but in this chapter it shows one of his weakness, he got drunk/naked... I bet after this episode he avoided it. What kind of example is he giving his children? Yet he also, saw to it that they were punished appropriately, and taught his children respect.
We need discipline especially from our parents, our loved ones, and friends, so that we may be part of that picture. Reply to this

Interesting question Rick, good son or bad son. I also thought it was interesting that God set up the rainbow to remind Him that He had made a covenant not to flood the entire earth again. Does that imply that God could forget? We all say God is awesome but I don't think that we can even begin to comprehend the magnitude of his power. When people say they fear God what do they mean? Do they fear Him like a bully or do they (we) fear Him out of awe and respect? Proverbs has several definitions of what it is to fear God. We as a group and as individuals are trying to gain knowledge and understand which is one of the ways to fear the Lord. Proverbs 1 vs 7," The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. We are all fools, all we can do is recognize where we are, and with God's help, maybe we can become a light in the darkness for someone. Reply to this
