So, the first King of Israel is going to be...??? CORRECT-AMUNDO! Some dude named Saul. Little did we think when reading this story of how Saul met Samuel, that Saul would be a failure at many things, and upset God along the way. Those stories and more, will be brought to you in the next episode of...Soa....sorry, 1st Samuel.
Interesting that Saul's servant had some money on him, yet Saul did not. I wonder where he got it? It was never used to get information from Samuel, but it gave Saul a reason to hunt up this seer. I know, I know, I'm rambling...just so much in this story. God spoke audibly to Samuel a coupla times in this chapter. I wonder why He doesn't do so today? Or maybe He does, but I never hear Him...He is talking to someone else.

That would be scary for someone to meet you and tell you what you were looking for before you even asked. Could you imagine God speaking to you. Could his voice be heard from others or was it just to Samuel? This passage once again show that the least will be the greatest, as Saul was from the smallest of the tribes, Benjamin, and then a smaller tribe inside of that. What is God using us for today? I don't think we hear Gods voice anymore, maybe because we are to preoccupied with so much other junk. Just a thought. Have a great day all!!
