Verse 14...reminds me of a boat and jetskiis.
The last verse (30) is confusing to me....anyone got any thoughts on this one?

we have read proverbs at least six times over the last year and I do not ever remember reading that scripture(30).

I believe in my past I have done vs 14, that is taking a good product and trying to get the price lower by nit picking, then telling others what a good deal I got. The boat on the other hand I would disagree with you, Sam. We drove out of the yard with not knowing if the prop was going to turn or not, the inside smelled of old dog and mildew, the list of things goes on and on. It was in need of some work. and also as it sits right now neither jetski is running. So this particular time I do not believe we have fallen victim to this sin. true enough we are excited about our purchases, but not boastful.

How would our society be different if we could, say.. beat another man up for making a move on our wife and not be in trouble for it. My point on vs 30 is this getting flogged or beaten is not a present thought and maybe just maybe people would not want to do wrong again if the got a beat down. In our society today if you murder, or rape someone and get caught you get a room with a bed to sleep on some new clothes and 3 square meals a day. That just doesn't seem fair to me.

    Proverbs 20
1 Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise. I know several people who should learn from this.
3 It is to a man's honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel. It was all I could do to not be a fool this past weekend, one out of many.
14 "It's no good, it's no good!" says the buyer; then off he goes and boasts about his purchase. There is a difference between lying to the seller and saying it is no good and getting a good deal without dickering on the price. I think what we have here is a person who is being deceitful to the seller and saying his product is no good and then going out and boasting because they basically stole it from the seller by lying. This is much different than stumbling on a good deal and NOT haggling over the price but just paying what they are asking. We have all gotten a good deal before and boasting over being deceitful and boasting over just being in the right place at the right time are different. Just a thought. Again Mac you make us think.
