Fairly long chapter if you don't love reading your Bible....a very short one if you do. So much is told in chapter 26, from the woman with the expensive perfume, to Judas plotting with the chief priests, to the great Lord's Supper, to the Disciples' denial of abandonment (and then fleeing), to the prayers at Gethsemane, followed by the arrest there, to Jesus' appearance before the Sanhedrin where he admits being the Son of God, to the start of His long journey of pain, to Peter realizing he had disowned Jesus when He needed him the most. To reflect on all of these in this blog would be impossible in a days time. So, in general, I just want to talk about the whole situation. He we have Jesus preparing to go through torture to save us, and He willingly did it out of obeyance to His Father. It is obvious from His talk and prayers, that it was not what He WANTED to do, must something He MUST do. How many times have we NOT been like Jesus where we didn't do something (for God) simply because we didn't feel like it, even though we knew it was the right thing to do out of obeyance? Plenty, right? Maybe we all ought to take some time and 'weep bitterly' (like Peter did) for OUR actions (or lack of them as the case may be). Jesus DIED for us. Just imagine that again. You see that truck coming down the highway....jump in front of it and die. Not to save someone's life (the truck ain't headed for that person), but to do it because that is what God foretold. Amazing faith Jesus had, and amazing, amazing love for sinners. Yes, we ought to bawl our eyes out when we act the way we do. Reply to this

Tony - if you check in today, please look for an email from me (just sent). The vodka guys I told you about are finally able to talk with Georgia Crown and they want some contact information and/or an introduction. I believe the connection was via your boss. Reply to this

Here we have predestination again. Judas, it appears had no choice as he was predestine to betray the Son of Man. And what was his reward for the betrayal? "But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born." If that's not predestine tell me what is. This is a lengthy chapter but it has so much info. What do you think you (I) would do if in Peters position at the hearing out in the courtyard? I would like to think the same as Peter and I would not deny Jesus. I thank Mac for keeping this blog going even though the rest of us are TERRIBLE at giving God piece of what we think is OUR time. Reply to this
