Well, my explorer crashed while doing this, so lost all my comments....let me try to remember: I always thought this story of the workers in the vineyard was about equal pay, and be satisfied with what you have. But it came to me today, must have been by the Holy Spirit, that the moral really is that no amount of work will save you. ONce a Christian, it doesn't matter how much you pray, read, study, evangelize, blog or help the poor. YOu are still saved. God sees no difference in one who is like Mother Theresa and one who prays once a week. The only thing He sees as different is the amount of sin in our lives. People who keep fighting sin are different than those who embellish it, not because of God's love (as he loves all equally), but because God will not let the one who refuses to repent from sin into Heaven. It doesn't matter if you read a little, or read a lot. It doesn't matter if you pray a little or pray a lot. It doesn't matter if you blog a little or blog a lot. God still loves you and has accepted you into His heart and home. It DOES matter, however, if in your 'lesser works' (pray, read, evangelize, blog) you allow sin to grow and you don't fight it. What kinds of sins are you guys cultivating as of late. I know you must be because I have not heard from you on this site for a long time. Mine is pride. After hearing a song by Mac Davis the other day, i realized I still need to 'work' on that sin a lot more: "Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble" (when you're perfect in every way). Reply to this
