But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first. Of course, that is Chapter 19, verse 30 of Matthew. Jesus is saying this to his disciples explaining about who can be saved. However, note that he did not say, many who are first will be not allowed into heaven. He just said they would be last. Now, I don't know if that is last to get into heaven, or if once there, are last in some sort of heirarchy. We are obviously not going to be all equal when we get to this heaven, as you read here that his twelve disciples would be sitting on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Note that Judas is still among the twelve to whom he is speaking. HMMMM. Is Judas going to be one of those twelve, or is it going to be Matthias? I think it'll be Judas. A lot of people would argue with me, saying Judas was too much of a sinner. COME ON! Too much of a sinner? And WE'RE NOT? No, Judas was chosen for a mission, and he accomplished it. He also probably repented (he was in so much grief it is said he killed himself). If we say that Judas can not be one of those twelve, then we haven't understood the Grace which God has given us all. To be first, or to be last--I don't think it matters ALL THAT MUCH. However, to have failed to make it a all, that is worrisome. Jesus explained that when the rich man left sad, that with man, it is not possible to be saved, but with God, EVERYTHING is possible. Repenting sinners, I think, go to heaven, either first or last or sometime in the middle, and I think that this is referring to positions held in heaven, not WHEN we get there. Comments?
