ARGH!!! I lost my Bible!!!!! I brought it in from the car last night (had a good lesson last night at the connection group meeting on Philippians 3:1-11) but can't find it this morning. Oh well, KJV, here I come.....
Verse 6: "Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; bat as the servants of Crist, doing the will of God from the heart." Paul is asking that we be obedient to Christ, not because we think it is the right thing to do, or that others may be watching us, but because of love for God. This is a lot like growing up. As little children you don't understand the concept of love. You obey your parents because the consequences of not obeying might not be pleasant, if you know what I mean. But, as you grow older, starting sometime in most people's teen years, you realize that you are obeying your parents not necessarily because it is the right thing to do, or that a punishment awaits you for not doing it, but that you are obeying them out of love. Your parents (in most cases) put a LOT of work into raising you, an act of love that is marvelous to behold. As we mature, we realize that love and start loving back. I look back at the times as a young kid when I didn't obey, and now feel sorry for what I did, simply because I was not loving my parents like I should have been. This is identically the way it is with Christ and us. Our demonstration of our love for him should not be done for the 'benefit' of those watching, but because we truly love Christ and want to show to HIM our deep appreciation. Yes, if done properly, others can observe and could possibly benefit as it might lead them toward seeking a similar love for Christ, but that is not the main purpose in doing so. Who cares what other men think? Our hearts should be centered on the love of Christ and the marvelous gift he has bestowed upon us.
I hope thee hast a good day.

I know we have all heard this chapter as parents as children as workers, also dressing for Godly works. so I want to mention undying love. Grace to those with undying love. If he mentions undying love then it is reasonable to know there is also dying love. I would also see it reasonable to see this as grace to those who do not walk away from God, those who do not dress themselves properly and can not extinguish the flaming arrows from the evil one. That love can die and there is no grace for one who does not fight to love God. this is why marrages fail, there is to much dying love and not enough undying love. finish the race!

ps25: When was the last time any of us had a prayer tlike vs 1-7ish. The writer is calling out to God pleeding with him to teach him His ways. I know I have not cryed out ot God like this. I have not asked God to teach me his Ways. Not withthis kind of passion anyway. I guess I still rely way to much on my own understanding. I will try this next Blog. befor i read anything I am going to ask God to take myself out of His way and to teach me what He wants me to see.
