Whew.....are we REALLY like them? God 'longs to redeem' us, yet, like Ephraim and crowd, we, as a people, ignore God. "WE" don't call out to him except in time of our 'need' (also substitute 'want' for 'need'). Yes, what sinful people we all are. Praise God for giving us Jesus, through whom we can confess our sins and God will not "remember all 'our' evil deeds". Praise to the highest for Jesus Christ!!!

15 I trained them and strengthened them, but they plot evil against me.

We as Christians are guilty of the same. If we are to examine our lives prior to making that commitment to God, saying those resounding words, "Jesus is Lord" we would come to realize we, at that time in our life, were untrained, undisciplined, untrustworthy, the list goes on and on.
Now years later, after thousands of hours spent training our mind and spirit to become disciplined, trustworthy and strong, what do we do with it? We become successful at our Job, good husband and/or wives, loyal friends, and overall outstanding people in our community. all these sound great and they can be, but when God takes second, or third or even further down the line we are disgraceful to God. He MUST be first and only first.

Hosea 7... They do not cry out to me from their hearts but wail upon their beds. How true is this! We (I) do not cry out to God from the heart asking forgiveness, begging forgiveness for the sins we have done and the sins we have committed against God and Jesus. But yet we have no problem sitting around mopping and feeling sorry for ourselves when life does not go as we think it should. I know we have problems in our marriages, maybe not all of us, and I know that I as of lately tend to think why me, what have I done to deserve this? When i n fact what have I done not to deserve this would be a better question. Why should we be carefree and happy and feel loved all the time when we can not show the same to God. Maybe we are feeling the same love from our wives as we are giving to God, no wonder I feel no emotion from my wife! One must recognize the problem to fix it. Show God love and ask forgiveness and I am sure that God will do the same in return.
