Again, today, not much jumping out at me. Except maybe verse 11. (A fool vents anger....). I am reminded of the many times I 'curse' other drivers. Not with normal curse words, but with simply my thoughts. I usually think, and sometimes say, 'what is WRONG with that person?'. (In an angry and prideful sort of way.) It is important that I learn something from this verse...I am a fool in God's eyes every time I do that. Instead, I should 'keep myself under control' and simply put my mind on other things, and quit worrying about getting somewhere rapidly or 'on time'. Having been indoctrinated for many years about being on time in the military, this is one curse I have difficulty overcoming. I know it to be rude to be late, so I should simply leave earlier, that way, if I should get behind some driver who may not be using all their skills for that task, I won't get so upset if I have to slow down for a while. Yup, something I gotta work on. I have even seen my nasty, foolish habit affecting my wife, as she now vocallizes about the same thing. I am leading her in the wrong direction. Time to change. Pray for me, please.

18 Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but blessed is he who keeps the law.

When we have our days (or weeks) of no revelation in our reading of the scriptures do we cast off our restraint or do we continue to keep the law of the Holy Spirit? Love, peace patience kindness, against these there is no law. I know for me if I am not getting anything from what I read I honestly tent to loose my restraint for sinning. It is apparent that God does not always expect us to get understanding every time we read, but this is no excuse to fall into temptation. I need to be more consistent when I am not getting a revelation or insight to God’s Word. The old adage “slow and steady wins the race” truly applies to our walk with God. If it didn’t it would be called our run with God.
