Proverbs 28. I don't know. Mind is wandering this morning. A lot of bad terms in these proverbs: Wicked, oppresses, evil, disgraces, perverse, detestable, tyrannical, murder, stingy, robs, and greedy. In each case, the author tells us something about men who possess these characteristics or take those actions, yet, also, in each case, the author gives a parallel for the good. He uses terms like righteous, order, blameless, discerning, upright, wise, mercy, abundant and faithful. None of us are perfect; we will have some of those bad characteristics in us, as well as some of the good. Why don't you list in the blog today, (taken from my listings above), those which have described you, say, during the last five years. List all the ones which you think apply to you, from both lists, the bad and the good. Don't be ashamed that the bad may be longer than the good, because, remember, we are not perfect. If you do this, list those characteristics (or actions) that applied to you at any given moment. For example, you could have been righteous one day, and greedy the next. Don't worry about which ones were more plentiful in your last five years, just if they applied to you at any given moment. Reply to this

The very first Proverb in chapter 28 jumped out at me this morning and it also ties in to what Sam has asked us to do.
1 The wicked man flees though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.
It takes boldness to confess sin. It is also right to confess it. On the contrary no one is pursuing us to confess our sin, yet we run from this needed part of our walk with God. Granted I do not believe any of us are 'wicked', but if sin stays unconfused that wickedness is festering inside us. There is sin I need to confess, but these pages are not the appropriate place. Tonight is normally midweek, does anyone want to meet as a small group and prayerfully confess our sins this evening? I know Tony is out of town so he cannot be there in person so that leaves three (or four if tom is reading), what say you? to add to the meeting tonight (if it is a yes) might I suggest that we bring this list of positive and negative adjectives as this list may help us get in touch with our struggles. Will we be bold or continue to run. And again I ask what say you?
I am willing to drive anywhere, and I also am willing to open my home for this gathering. I have an outdoor fire place. I will start a fire and we can sit around it, under God’s beautiful stars, listening to crackling warmth of the flames and pour out our transgressions to our mighty God. For the last time I ask; what say you?
Weather: low 37(hence the fire), mostly clear 0% chance of participation. I am open to any other ideas also. Reply to this
