It is dificult for me to remain clear of mud for any length of time. Is this the reason for grave or am I just to weak? I will have a couple of good days , maybe a week will be good, then the temptations creep in and I fall short. I defenately felt stronger while we were in proverbs everyday. Well, good morning ALL. I see Rich was up REAL early....I can't take naps normally either, or I would be up in the middle of the night too. Am sorry to hear about your sicknesses, but am glad to hear about your attitude. I see that by the times written from Tony and Rik, that they opted not to attend a church this morning...that's okay..I did too. My back is still very very sore and swollen, so decided to stay in bed....just got up 20 minutes ago. It's hard to do much with a sore back. The first time through Proverbs 25 today, I didn't see much, but brought back memories of my previous readings of it. As I reread it, verse 19 stood out this time..."Like a bad tooth or a lame foot (or a bad back) is reliance on the unfaithful in times of trouble." The tooth, the foot and the back, can be painful, for sure. They can cause self pity, hatred, anger and solitude. Pain is no fun. The author tells us that this pain is similar to the pain we would get if we rely on people who are not faithful with God. These are all nagging types of pain, and don't seem to go away. You need your teeth to not be aching so you can eat properly. You need your foot to not be in pain for you to walk properly. You need your back to be well so you can sit without pain. You need people of God in your life so you won't be in spiritual pain. If you listen to non-righteous people when you are in trouble, more than likely you will be 'rewarded' with some other type of pain. The advice you get might be to lash back at your troubles, rather than accept them and learn from them. You might be advised to ignore your troubles and they will go away...that NEVER happens. You may be advised to get further into trouble because it feels good. No, advice from non-spiritual people is probably not very good in most circumstances. But advice from God fearing Christians, like you three, would probably yield much better rewards. The more people we get to join us, the better are our chances of staying/getting out of trouble. Let's see if we can build up someone else to join us on this blog. You guys to me are like a solid tooth, a strong foot and a healthy back (you figure out which one you are!)...and I look for you for wisdom and guidance which you gain from being men of God. A prayer for my back would be nice if you would add it to your already long list. Members of each of our families need US to pray for THEM as well. Let's continue to do so, but with maybe more emphasis on each others' families.
