Prov 16:24. "Pleasant words...." Rick mentioned that the other day when talking about encouragement. We all need that. Even a 'good job' spoken by a boss, friend, or Dad, is encouragement. To be ignored by others when you accomplish something good is sort of disheartening. I know kids always look to their parents for "a good job done". How much do we do this for others?
Romans 16. Amazing how Paul spends so much time in one letter to send 'greetings' to so many people. To greet someone in this manner probably meant a lot to them. Writing letters is not as common as it used to be, what with the advent of the email system. But, greeting can still take place. We greet each other when we see one another, when we email one another, or when we telephone one another. It makes us feel loved. Ya know what I mean? Greetings All!!!! Reply to this

p16-1 this confused me at first, but by reading a few other versions it seem to say that we can make plans but God will make the way for us. so to make ones life less difficult it is wise to consult God prior to making choices and see what is plan is so thing will work out. r-16
Phoebe- it says in the NIV she is a servant of the church. the amplified bible says she is a deaconess. the is the only ref I could find of the word deaconess. all other scriptures refer to deacons as men. When I get home I want to see the greek/Hebrew word and see what it translate to. the question it poses is what is the role of a deacon? is deaconess a legitimate position? Reply to this

Sorry I have been gone for the past several days. I was sick for a few days, but am doing better now. I would like to ask you guys to pray for me. I am having cataract surgery tomorrow. I know it is minor, but I am not all that nuts about surgery of any kind and my eye is kind of a sensitive area! The surgery is at 11:00. It is supposed to only take 10 minutes and I will be home tomorrow night. Mainly, I would like prayers for my wife and kids that they do not get all upset or worried. Thanks. Reply to this
